Condolence

Abuja, Dec. 15, 2025 (NAN) Dame Julie Okah-Donli has expressed sorrow over the sudden death of Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, describing the loss as devastating for both the state and the nation.
In a condolence message on Monday, Okah-Donli extended her solidarity to the people and government of Bayelsa State during this period of grief.
“On behalf of the Okah-Donli family, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the late Deputy Governor, the Government of Bayelsa State, and all Bayelsans mourning this painful loss,” she said.
She remembered Ewhrudjakpo as a calm, dignified, and committed leader whose contributions to governance and public service will remain indelible.
“He was more than a public office holder. He was a steady hand in leadership, a voice of reason in moments of challenge, and a patriot deeply committed to the unity and progress of his people,” Okah-Donli stated.
She noted that the deputy governor’s passing represents a major setback not only for Bayelsa, but also for Nigeria’s democratic process, praying for divine comfort and strength for all affected. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
