KADUNA,Dec.18,2025(NAN) The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kaduna Area Command, on Thursday held a sendforth ceremony in honour of its outgoing Command Public Relations Officer (PRO), CSC Ridwan Yusuf, following his redeployment to the Public Relations Unit at the NCS Headquarters, Abuja.

Speaking at the event, the Customs Area Comptroller, Kaduna Area Command, Comptroller Sa’ad Hassana, described Yusuf as a dependable, innovative and stress free officer whose contributions had positively shaped the command’s public image.
Hassana said the outgoing PRO distinguished himself through problem solving skills, professionalism and dedication to duty, attributes that earned him recognition beyond the command.
“Ridwan is someone who is always there for you. Whatever you bring to him, he will think it through and help shape it so you can achieve your objective,” he said.
The comptroller urged Yusuf to deploy the same energy, innovation and skills at the Customs Headquarters, expressing confidence that his performance would soon attract greater responsibilities.

“I believe if he puts this same energy at the headquarters, very soon he will reach somewhere he never even expected,” Hassana said.
He also called on officers of the command to emulate Yusuf’s work ethic and professionalism, noting that his redeployment had created a gap that must be bridged through collective effort.
“You should see him as a role model. Copy his skills and put in more effort to cover the gap he has created.
He is a problem solver who can navigate challenges and take you through the potholes until you reach the end of the tunnel,” he added.
Hassana disclosed that Yusuf’s transfer was a result of his outstanding performance, which caught the attention of the national leadership of the Service.
“It is the quality of work he has been doing that made the headquarters request for him. They saw his traces and wanted him with them,” he said.
In a goodwill message, the Comptroller in charge of Administration, Comptroller Amwe Aku, commended Yusuf for his professionalism and teamwork, wishing him success in his new assignment.
Aku said that events, banners, visual representations and other communication outputs of the command were largely driven by Yusuf’s creativity and commitment, adding that although he was leaving, the command would continue to rely on the foundations he laid.
Also speaking, the Comptroller in charge of Revenue, Zone B Headquarters, Comptroller Abubakar Alkali, advised Yusuf to see his posting to the Customs Headquarters, Abuja, as a defining opportunity in his career rather than a routine transfer.
Alkali said exposure at the headquarters would position Yusuf for greater responsibilities, noting that many senior officers rose through similar postings.
He urged him to remain focused, stress-free and principled, stressing that diligence and consistency would naturally attract recognition. “Continue to do what is right; the system will discover you,” he said, expressing confidence that Yusuf would excel in his new role.
Responding, Yusuf expressed profound gratitude to the management and officers of the Kaduna Area Command for their support, mentorship and cooperation during his tenure.
He particularly thanked the Area Comptroller for his “exemplary leadership, unwavering support and fatherly guidance,” noting that the trust reposed in him gave meaning to his assignment as PRO.
“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way. You have truly shown the way,” Yusuf said.
He also acknowledged the roles played by his mentors and senior officers across the Service, describing the send-forth as a memorable moment in his career.
“As I take my leave from this command following my redeployment, I do so with fond memories and valuable lessons. I am grateful to have walked this journey with you,” he said.
Yusuf prayed for continued guidance and protection for the officers and men of the command, pledging to uphold the values of professionalism and excellence in his new role at the NCS Headquarters.
The ceremony was attended by members of the management team, senior officers and other personnel of the Kaduna Area Command.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
