Abuja, Dec. 18, 2025 (NAN) The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) unwavering commitment to counter-insurgency operations, internal security and the protection of lives and property across the country.
Aneke gave the assurance during his maiden operational visit to the Air Training Command (ATC) and co-located units in Kaduna.
This is contained in a statement by the Director, Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, on Thursday in Abuja.
Aneke said the visit was both professionally significant and personally meaningful, noting that Kaduna occupied a special place in the Service and in his career journey.
He said the engagement provided an opportunity for direct interaction, honest dialogue and a reaffirmation of shared responsibility to the mission and values of the NAF.
The CAS stressed that sustained readiness, discipline and leadership at all levels were critical to confronting banditry and other security threats.
He said that upon assuming office as the 23rd Chief of the Air Staff, he reviewed factors affecting operational effectiveness, leading to the articulation of his Command Philosophy aimed at building a highly motivated, professional and mission-ready force.
He emphasised that the philosophy was a practical framework to guide planning, training and conduct at all levels, adding that standardised training, innovation, emerging technologies and strategic partnerships were key enablers.
During an inspection of facilities, the CAS inaugurated selected projects to improve training infrastructure and personnel welfare, assuring personnel of his policy of “Welfare for Enhanced Warfare.”
He expressed confidence that through intelligence-driven operations, a strong safety culture and efficient use of resources, the NAF would continue to safeguard lives and property and protect Nigeria’s national security interests.
Earlier, the Air Officer Commanding, Air Training Command, AVM Yusuf Dari, briefed the CAS on the Command’s mandate, training activities, achievements and challenges.
He said ATC remained central to sustaining operational effectiveness, noting that the quality of air operations was directly linked to the quality of training, maintenance and support provided by the Command.(NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
