Maiduguri agog as women, youths line up streets for Tinubu

Abuja, Dec. 20, 2025 (NAN) The streets of Maiduguri came alive on Saturday as women and youths lined up major roads to welcome President Bola Tinubu on a working visit to Borno.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that mammoth crowds began gathering as early as 8 a.m. along the route leading to the General Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, Maiduguri.
Students in school uniforms, women and youths waved Nigerian flags and banners, singing and dancing in jubilation.
Popular Hausa musician Rarara’s hit song “Omologo” blared from loudspeakers as the supporters cheered the President’s arrival.
Security personnel were deployed in large numbers at the airport and along major roads to manage the surging crowd as the presidential motorcade moved through the city.
Tinubu later inaugurated people-oriented projects in the transport and education sectors, including electric tricycles and primary/secondary schools.
At the inauguration ceremony , the residents applauded with cheers as the president inaugurated the projects, before proceeding to the Nikkah ceremony of the son of the forner Governor of the state , Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff,Sadeeq and his heartthrob, Hadiza. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
