Taraba judiciary commission promotes 535 ,  demotes 2, confirms appointments

The Taraba State Judiciary Commission (TSJC) under the leadership of Justice Joel Agya, Chief Judge of the state approved the promotion of 535 Judiciary officers, confirmed acting appointments and demoted two of it officers.
The  statement  by Hajia Talatu Abubakar, Secretary to the Commission in Jalingo on Sunday, noted  that the decision of the TSJC was ratified at its 125th meeting held in Jalingo.
The statement  said that the commission considered the report of its sub committee on promotion and approved the promotion of the  staff based on Merit.
The statement  listed those affected by the confirmation of appointments to includes; James Machoko whose appointment was confirmed as a substantive Chief Registrar of the state High Court with effect from June 15 2025.
The statement also listed Mr  Useni Galadima as the substantive Deputy Registrar of the state High Court, Mrs Victoria Barnabas as Director Area Courts.
Others are  Abdullahi Loto as Director Litigation, High Court and  Mrs Nadunya Gamiya  as Director Audit.
According to the statement, Mahmoud Lamu is  appointed as Acting Director of Personnel Management.
It  also confirmed the appointment of Christian Jonah as the  Chief Registrar, Customary Court of Appeal, Absalom Peter as Deputy Chief Registrar Customary Court of Appeal and  Samuel  Inusa as Director Litigation Customary Court, while Peter Inus’ as  Director Personnel Management Customary Court of Appeal.
The Commission also  confirmed the appointment of Ishaq Umar as Director Litigation Customary Court of Appeal and
Mohammed Isa  as Acting Director Administration, Customary Court of Appeal.
On the disciplinary action, the commission
demoted the  Assauten Abasson  from the rank of Senior Magistrate II on GL.13 to the rank of Senior Registrar on GL.10 with effect from Dec. 19, 2025.
According to the report, the officer is recalled to High Court Headquarters in Jalingo  for a period of two years.
It also demoted William Jakwanti from the rank of Registrar I on Gl. 09 to the rank of Asst. Registrar on Gl.07.
The Commission directed that the officer be  recalled to the headquarters in Jalingo  and he   was asked  to refund the sum of N40,000 to one Musa Audu. (NAN)
