FRSC launches volunteers crash unit in Zamfara

Gusau Dec 22, 2025 (NAN) The Zamfara Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) has
established a National Post Crash Care Volunteers Initiative in Damba community of Gusau Local Government Area of the State.
The state’s FRSC Sector Commander, Aliyu Maaji, who Inaugurated the volunteers group on Monday, said that the initiative is in line with community engagement strategy, to partner FRSC in traffic control, rescue and management.
Maaji said that the idea behind the post crash volunteers, was to compliment regular marshals efforts in reducing roads crashes.
He said that the process which led to the formation of the volunteer, started when Damba youths reported frequent road crashes to the command.
“On receiving the complaint, the command mobilised and visited the area for spot assessment, and promised the community support .
“The command is today, launching the selected dedicated youths, who would be trained on post crash rescue in the event of accident,” he said
He expressed the command’s commitment to establish more volunteer group to compliment the operation of regular marshals on road traffic management.
Also speaking, the Ward Head of Damba, Alhaji Abdullahi Mande, commended the dedication of the youths in bringing forth such initiative.
He also thanked the FRSC for the encouragement and promised to provide necessary support to the youths. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
