Plateau governor urges prayers for peace at Christmas

Jos, Dec. 25, 2025 (NAN) Gov. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has felicitated with Christians nationwide on Christmas, urging prayers for peace and for leaders at all levels of governance.

 

The message is contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Jos by Dr Gyang Bere, the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the governor.

 

Mutfwang congratulated the global Christian community, describing Christmas as a season of reflection, thanksgiving and renewed hope for humanity.

 

He thanked Plateau residents for their steadfast support, praising their collective commitment to peace, unity and harmonious coexistence across the state.

 

“I wish Christians across the nation a Merry Christmas. This season fills our hearts with joy, love and a spirit of togetherness,” he said.

 

He said Christmas reminds believers of the divine light brought through Jesus Christ, offering hope, redemption and reassurance to a weary world.

 

The governor urged citizens to offer fervent prayers for peace nationwide and for leaders at all levels of governance.

 

He specifically called for prayers for President Bola Tinubu, seeking divine wisdom, courage, sound health and guidance for national leadership.

 

Mutfwang said Christmas reflects God’s boundless love, inspiring values of compassion, forgiveness, hope and selfless service to humanity.

 

He expressed sympathy to families affected by recent violent attacks, reassuring them of his administration’s resolve to address security challenges.

 

The governor acknowledged economic pressures and insecurity, affirming government’s commitment to protecting lives, property and restoring lasting peace.
