2026: NUJ Adamawa celebrates with members, Fintiri, Nigerians

Yola, Jan. 1, 2025 (NAN) The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamawa Council, felicitates with Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri  of Adamawa, citizens, residents as well as journalists across the state and the country on the joyous occasion of the 2026 New Year celebration.

This is contained in a statement on Thursday jointly issued by the Chairman and Secretary, Abdullahi Ibrahim and Kissinger Bukar respectively.

“‎The Union expresses profound gratitude to Almighty God for His mercy, protection, and guidance throughout the year 2025, despite the numerous challenges encountered.

‎”The NUJ acknowledges the resilience of journalists who remained steadfast in the discharge of their professional duties, often under demanding conditions, in the interest of peace, unity, and democratic development”, it stated.

‎The Council commended the administration of Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri, for its continued commitment to peace, security, infrastructural development, and inclusive governance in Adamawa State.

‎”We particularly appreciate the cordial relationship existing between the state government and the media, which has enhanced information dissemination and public enlightenment.

“‎As the new year unfolds, the union calls on journalists to rededicate themselves to the principles of professionalism, ethical journalism, national unity, and responsible reporting”, he said.

The NUJ also urged the public to continue to support the media in its constitutional role as a watchdog and partner in development.

The‎ council prayed that the year 2026 would bring renewed hope, peace, prosperity, and sustainable development to Adamawa and Nigeria at large.‎(NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
