Izzi (Ebonyi), Jan. 1, 2026 (NAN) Gov Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi has urged players of Abakaliki Football Club to remain focused, committed and be determined for success.
Nwifuru gave the advise when players and management of the club paid him a courtesy visit on Thursday at his county home in Oferekpe, Izzi Local Government Area.
The governor urged the sports officials as well as administrators to uphold professionalism and ethical behaviour in and out of the field.
He promised continued support to the club, adding that he would be more involved in the affairs of the club.
Nwifuru admonished the team to re-strategise in the new football season, for an improved performance.
“I am pleased with your activities and I known you will do well, so remain focused, continue winning to make the club, state and country proud.
“I am committed to the club’s future even if others won’t lead,” Nwifuru said. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
