Abuja, Dec. 10, 2025 (NAN) Malam Ali M. Ali, the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), has called on Christians to exhibit the love of God by reaching out to the less privileged.
Ali made the call in his remarks at the 2025 NAN Chapel Christmas Carol held at the agency’s headquarters on Wednesday in Abuja.
Represented by the NAN Editor-in- Chief, Mr Mufutau Ojo, the MD said, giving to the under-privileged during Christmas has numerous benefits, both for the recipients and the givers.
“Your gifts can bring happiness and sense of belonging to those who may be struggling; your contributions can be in form of essential items like food, clothing among others.
“Above all, it is a way of showing God`s love, reflecting the true spirit of Christmas by caring for the less fortunate,” he said.
Ali promised that the 2026 carol would be wholly sponsored by the management of the agency.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the NAN Chapel Chaplain, Pastor Paul Aliyu, prayed for the NAN boss for more wisdom and Divine direction.
According to him, Christmas Carol reminds Christians of God`s love and promise of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Pastor Godwin Idowu, the Chaplain of National Hospital Chapel, Abuja, exhorted the congregation on the topic, “Wonderful Councillor.“
Idowu, who was an invited Minister, used Isaiah 9:6 to explain his sermon.
According to him, Isaiah 9:6 is a powerful prophecy about Jesus Christ, speaking of His birth and role as Messiah.
“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder:
“His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
“To Christians, this verse affirms Jesus`s Divinity, describes Jesus`s roles, proclaims hope and salvation and encourages faith and trust, “ he said..
Idowu stated that Nigeria and the entire world needed Jesus Christ to truly enjoy peace.
The clergy urged all Christians to sincerely seek and worship Jesus Christ as the wise men in Matthew chapter 2, did. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
