Olanrewaju reelected Ogun NUJ chairman

Abeokuta, Dec. 11, 2025 (NAN) Members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) , Ogun Council, on Thursday reelected Wale Olanrewaju as chairman for another three years.

‎Olanrewaju was reelected unopposed alongside his Vice, Abiodun Lawal of the News Agency of Nigeria.‎

Bunmi Adigun was returned as Secretary with 153 votes after defeating Modupeola Salabiu who garnered seven votes, while Lukman Adefeso emerged as Financial Secretary with 161 votes to defeat Kunle Ibikunle who had 19 votes.

‎The Vice President of the B Zone, Mrs Ronke Samo who announced the result after the election also declared Toyin Oyelumade, and Olayinka Ezema as the Assistant Secretary and Auditor, respectively.

‎Meanwhile, the position of the treasurer remained vacant as the two aspirants for the position were disqualified during the electioneering process.

‎In his acceptance speech, the re-elected chairman, Olanrewaju commended members for standing firm to uphold the constitution of the union.

He promised to continue to work towards a better welfare package for men of the pen profession. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
