Abuja, Dec. 23, 2025 (NAN) The Labour Party has appointed Aju Elumelu-James as Special Adviser on Media and Strategic Communication to the National Chairman, Julius Abure.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja.

Ifoh said that the appointment was in recognition of Elumelu-James’ unwavering commitment, strategic insight and years of selfless service to the party.

According to him, Elumelu-James has consistently distinguished herself as a disciplined mobiliser, passionate communicator and tireless advocate of the party’s vision, both at home and across the global diaspora.

“She previously served with distinction as Deputy Director, Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration (Diaspora), where she successfully coordinated mobilisation efforts in several countries around the world.

“Her exemplary performance in that role led to her subsequent appointment as Secretary-General, Directorate of International and Diaspora Affairs (DIDA), where she further strengthened the party’s international presence and engagement.

“Since 2023, Hon. Elumelu-James has continued to promote the Labour Party globally through incisive, consistent and values-driven write-ups,” he said.

Ifoh said that her writings had helped in shaping narratives, inspire supporters and amplify the party’s message of good governance, accountability and people-centred leadership.

He added that her new role came at a critical time, reflecting the confidence of the party’s leadership in her capacity to deepen strategic messaging and strengthen public engagement.

“Labour Party congratulates her on this appointment and looks forward to the renewed energy, professionalism and strategic impact she brings to this all-important assignment,” Ifoh said. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
