Accord

Abuja, Dec. 25, 2025 (NAN) Accord, a political party, has urged Nigerians to remain united and renew their faith in the country as Christians celebrate the Christmas season.
The party’s National Chairman, Mr Maxwell Mgbudem, made the call in a Christmas message issued on Thursday in Abuja.
Mgbudem said Christmas, marking the birth of Jesus Christ, symbolises hope, peace and renewal, reminding Nigerians that shared humanity remains the nation’s greatest strength.
He called on citizens to renew their faith in Nigeria, its democracy and in themselves, in spite of prevailing national challenges.
According to him, Nigeria remains a country of immense promise, resilience and talent, even in the face of socio-economic and security concerns.
“Our democracy, though still evolving, belongs to the people and must be strengthened through unity, participation and respect for the rule of law.
“We urge Nigerians to remain united across ethnic, religious and political lines. Unity is not a choice; it is a necessity for national progress,” Mgbudem said.
He called on leaders at all levels to pursue peace, justice and people-centred policies at this critical period in the nation’s history.
Mgbudem said leadership must prioritise the welfare, dignity and security of citizens above all other considerations.
“The persistent challenge of insecurity remains a concern for every Nigerian family.
“We appeal for renewed commitment to protecting lives and property, strengthening cohesion and addressing violence through inclusive governance, opportunity and social justice.
“Above all, the welfare of the people must remain the top priority. A nation thrives only when citizens feel safe, heard and supported,” Mgbudem said.
He prayed for peace and unity across the country, urging Nigerians to move forward together in hope.
“Merry Christmas, and may the New Year bring renewed hope to our great nation,” Mgbudem said. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
