Akwashiki: Nigeria has lost a patriot, says speaker

Lafia, Jan.3, 2026 ( NAN) Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr Danladi Jatau, has commiserate with the family of Sen. Godiya Akwashiki over his death.
He said the country and State has lost a patriotic citizen and one of the best performing senators.
Jatau while condoling with Akwashiki’s family on Saturday in Lafia urged the family to take solace in God.
The speaker said that the death of Akwashiki was painful considering his contributions to the development of Nasarawa North, the State and the Country at large.
“Please let’s all take hearts. Akwashiki’s death was painful and a big blow to us and Nigeria at large.
“We all know that death is inevitable. God gives life and takes at will.
“We pray God to end this death in Eggon Nation and the society in general. Sen. Solomon Ewuga has gone and now Sen. Godiya Akwashiki has gone among others.
“Sen. Godiya has done his best towards touching on the lives of the people of his Senatorial district.
“My prayers is for God to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest” he said.
The speaker urged the family, Eggon Nation, the State and Nigeria to bear the irreparable lost.
Responding, Mrs Hajaratu Akwashiki, Elder Sister to Akwashiki appreciated the speaker for identifying with them at the trial moment.
She said that their brother lived a fulfilled and accomplished life while on earth.
She prayed God to bless and reward the Speaker and his entourage.
