Yola, Dec. 16, 2025 (NAN) Mr Abdulrahman Haske, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Adamawa, has empowered no fewer than 273 women leaders drawn from 226 wards across the state.
Haske disclosed this on Tuesday in Yola, at the APC Women Empowerment Programme with the theme, “Empowering Women, Strengthening APC with Mr President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”
He said the initiative was aimed at strengthening women at the grassroots in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
According to him, the programme is also designed to build political momentum among women ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The gathering of 273 women leaders across 226 wards is to build women’s capacity and strengthen political mobilisation towards 2027,” he said.
Haske said the organisers engaged the women to understand their needs and challenges in order to channel empowerment interventions appropriately and promote inclusive democracy.
He noted that grassroots women were better positioned to understand community challenges, adding that their input would help shape a people-focused manifesto that would drive development.
Haske assured that the empowerment programme would be sustained through collaboration with organisations that would continue to support the women’s businesses and families.
Also speaking, the Adamawa APC Women Leader, Mrs Gloria Markson, said women constituted the strongest voting bloc and were critical to political mobilisation.
Markson described women as committed supporters who mobilise at the grassroots through house-to-house and door-to-door engagement.
She added that food and non-food items, including bags of rice, cooking oil, wrappers and cash gifts, would be distributed to support the women’s livelihoods.
She reaffirmed the commitment of women leaders to mobilise support for the APC, in the state ahead of the 2027 elections. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng).
