Bauchi, Dec. 24, 2025 (NAN) Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has felicitated with Christian faithful in the state on the occasion of the 2025 Christmas celebration, urging residents to embrace peace, love, tolerance, and unity.

This is contained in a goodwill message issued on Wednesday in Bauchi by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Mukhtar Gidado.

According to the statement, the governor described Christmas, which marks the birth of Jesus Christ, as a season that reminds people of faith of the virtues of peace, honesty, love for one another, and the fear of God.

He emphasised that those values should be upheld by all residents, regardless of religious, ethnic, or political differences, to promote peaceful coexistence across the state.

Mohammed noted that the Christmas season provided an opportunity for reflection, prayer, and renewal, encouraging citizens to reflect on their actions, seek divine forgiveness, and strengthen bonds of love, respect, and forgiveness.

He further emphasised the need for unity and collective responsibility in building strong communities and developing Bauchi State, urging residents to exchange visits, share gifts, and promote harmony, including with people of other faiths.

The governor reassured the people that his administration remained committed to inclusive governance, justice, and fairness.

He also appreciated the patience and resilience of Christians in the state in spite of what he described as divisive and misleading narratives.

He noted that the unity of Bauchi residents remained a strong defence against intolerance and falsehood, adding that his government placed high priority on the protection of lives and property.

The governor said sustained collaboration with security agencies had helped address security challenges in the state, and called on residents to continue supporting security operatives to maintain peace.

Mohammed also appreciated the continued support of the people since the beginning of his administration in 2019, assuring them that development programmes would reach all parts of the state before the end of his tenure in 2027.

He wished Christians a joyful and peaceful Christmas celebration and prayed for continued peace, unity, and divine blessings upon Bauchi State and the nation at large.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
