FRSC inaugurates  operation zero-tolerance, deploys 1,470  personnel in  Kaduna

Kaduna, Dec. 15, 2025(NAN)The Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), Kaduna State Sector Command on Monday inaugurated operation zero-tolerance and  deployed 1, 470 personnel in  Kaduna.

TIjjani Iliyasu, while inaugurating the operation and  briefing of officers and men of the command in Kaduna.
He said, “The FRSC  has inaugurated the 2025 Operation Zero-tolerance, an intensive end-of-year safety operation aimed at reducing road traffic crashes, injuries, and fatalities during the yuletide period.”
Iliyasu disclosed that the operation was scheduled to run from  Monday to Jan. 15,. 2026.
He said the operation would witness the deployment of 1,470 regular FRSC personnel, 401 Special Marshals, 30 patrol vehicles and two motor bikes.
Similarly, there would be deployment of two heavy-duty tow trucks, one carrier tow truck, 10 ambulances, and drones for effective traffic surveillance across major highways and critical corridors within Kaduna State.
 Iliyasu charged the personnel to conduct themselves professionally and avoid any acts capable of tarnishing the image of the corps.
He also disclosed that  the operation will focus on the enforcement of critical traffic offences, including non-use of passenger manifest, dangerous driving and over taking, over speeding.
Others included tyre violation, use of mobile phones while driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs as well as seat belt violations.
Other traffic offences include lane indiscipline and route violations, as well as overloading of goods and passengers, among other traffic infractions.
Iliyasu  emphasised that periodic mobile Court sittings, strict enforcement, and robust public enlightenment campaigns would be sustained throughout the period of the exercise to ensure voluntary compliance by road users.”
He said, “To enhance prompt response to emergencies, the command has activated traffic camps and help areas at Rigachikun, Kwanan Farakwai, Birnin Yero, and Gonin Gora to effectively manage traffic gridlocks and respond swiftly to road traffic crashes.
” In addition, roadside clinics have been fully equipped with trained personnel and medical consumables to attend to minor injuries of crash victims and members of the immediate communities.
Iliyasu  called on members of the public to obey traffic rules and regulations as well as to leverage FRSC emergency and information platforms, including the 122 toll-free emergency line, National Traffic Radio 107.1 FM (Abuja) for road advisories.
He disclosed the FRSC mobile application for speed monitoring, black spot identification, and reporting of erring drivers.
The sector commander  wished the  public and the good people of Kaduna state a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year,.
