Kano, Dec. 18, 2025( NAN) The Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA) has called on the Federal Government to urgently review critical economic issues in the country, warning that failure to do so could lead to a collapse of key sectors of the economy.
The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that KACCIMA President Mr Hassan Darma, made this known while speaking with newsmen on Friday.
Darma expressed concern over the lingering dispute between the Federal Government and the Dangote Group, particularly over the Dangote Refinery.
He noted that the Dangote Group was a leading indigenous business entity providing employment to thousands of Nigerians.
Darma warned that unresolved issues surrounding the refinery could negatively affect operations and lead to job losses, exacerbating unemployment, a major driver of insecurity in the country.
He urged the government to prioritise job creation and address corruption challenges.
Darma cited allegations of corruption against a former NNPCL Group Managing Director and stressed that transparency and accountability are crucial for restoring economic confidence.
He described the prolonged dispute as economic sabotage and called for urgent resolution, dismissing claims that Dangote seeks to monopolize the oil and gas sector.
KACCIMA urged the Federal Government to create an enabling environment for local investors, noting that encouraging homegrown businesses is essential for sustainable growth.( NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
