Kwara receives global recognition as Gov. AbdulRazaq’s wife honours Mandela

Ilorin, Jan. 8, 2026 (NAN) The Kwara Government has received international recognition following the signing of the historic Nelson Mandela Tribute Book at the House of Commons, UK Parliament in London.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the book was signed on Monday by Amb. Olufolake AbdulRazaq, wife of Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State.
This is contained in a statement by Adeyinka Adeniyi, Press Secretary to the Governor’s wife, made available to NAN in Ilorin on Thursday.
Adeniyi listed other eminent personalities who have signed the tribute book to include former UK Prime Minister, Mr David Cameron and former Speaker, John Bercow.
The statement described Mandela as a symbol of courage, compassion, and service, inspiring Africa’s commitment to justice and education.
“This signing is a moment of pride for Nigeria and Kwara, showcasing its leadership, education, and public service tradition.
“This is a moment of profound honour and it reaffirms Africa’s commitment to justice, compassion and education for all”, the statement added. (NAN). (www.nannews.ng)
