Obasa vows life-changing projects for Agege residents

Lagos, Dec. 22, 2025 (NAN) The Chairman The Agege Local Government, Mr Abdul-Ganiyu Obasa, says the government is executing 15 road and drainage projects, and renovating 14 public schools.

 

Obasa also said that the local council was building 10 health booths in an efforts to improve infrastructure, public health and environmental safety.

 

He gave the figures after he was sworn in  by Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the Chairman of Agege Local Government on Monday at Lagos House in Ikeja.

 

Obasa said that the interventions were aimed at making the council area safer, cleaner and more beautiful.

“We are seeing a lot of roads and drains being fixed, with 15 projects currently underway in Agege Local Government Area.

 

 

“We also have 14 schools being renovated and 10 health booths being deployed to bring healthcare closer to our people,” Obasa said.

 

 

According to the council boss, the local government had also intensified a clean environment campaign to eliminate hazards and promote public safety across communities.

“We are ensuring that all hazards are eliminated within our communities.

“Security is also a top priority for us to ensure that Agege is positioned as one of the top local governments in Nigeria,” he said.

 

The chairman added that the council was focused on deepening people-oriented programmes, particularly in human capital development and poverty reduction.

 

“For us, it is to go back and continue to improve the lives of our people, improve human capital, remove many of our people from poverty and carry out empowerment programmes so that more residents are economically engaged,” he said.

On party unity, the chairman said that reconciliation efforts had begun within the All Progressives Congress.

“Since the primary election was concluded, a lot of reconciliation started.

He said that the council was running an inclusive government that would not discriminate against any group.

“At the end of the day, everybody enjoys the roads, the schools, healthcare and improvements across board,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that, Obasa, who was the Vice Chairman of Agege Local Government, became the substantive Chairman  after the electsd Chairman,  Mr Tunde Azeezr, resigned due to health challenges few months ago. (NAN)(www.nannews)
