LCDA boss empowers over 1,000 Olorunda residents with cash, work tools

Badagry (Lagos State), Dec.20, 2025 (NAN) Chairman of the Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr Kumayon Ajose, on Saturday, gifted work tools and cash to over 1000 residents of the council, to enhance their businesses.
The empowerment marks the grand finale of his 100 days in office, which event was held at the Age-Mowo Model School in Badagry.
Ajose said that the intervention is aimed at promoting self-reliance, job creation, and inclusive economic growth acros the council.
The chairman reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to people-focused policies, programmes, and projects that guarantees sustainable development.
He disclosed that he is alsso extending a cash support of N100,000 each, to 200 beneficiaries under the Small and Medium-Scale Enterprises (SMEs).
“Apart from these, we are giving out five motorcycles to the five wards Chairmen of APC in the council,” he said.
He said that his administration also officially presented operational vehicles to hardworking councillors in the council, to enhance legislative efficiency and effective representation.
“We also celebrated excellence by presenting cash rewards to outstanding talents, the winners of the APK Football Championship and the Spelling Bee Competition.
“In further demonstration of our concern for safety in riverine communities, life jackets were distributed to residents,” he said.
Ajose said that several empowerment items were distributed to beneficiaries drawn from different communities within the LCDA.
He listed the donated tools to include grinding machines, chest freezers, hair dryers, sewing machines, barbering kits, generating sets and POS machines.
The chairman expressed appreciation over the unflinching support and cooperation given to him by the people.
According to him, this has been the driving force behind the modest but meaningful achievements we celebrate today.
“Indeed, the mandate freely given to us during the July 12 Local Government Elections was a social contract, a solemn agreement to serve with integrity, diligence, and unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of our people.
“Today, as part of this 100-day milestone, we are rendering an account of our stewardship under our RESHAPE Agenda.
“This celebration, therefore, is not about self-praise, but about reporting back to the people who entrusted us with leadership,” he said. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
