Lagos, Dec. 21, 2025 (NAN) The Tinubu Media Force has congratulated Mr Seyi Tinubu on his installation as ‘Okanlomo of Yorubaland’ by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN reports that the revered monarch conferred the chieftaincy title on Tinubu during a traditional ceremony held on Sunday.
Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, is a distinguished entrepreneur and business leader, born on Oct. 13, 1985.
Okanlomo of Yorubaland is a prestigious Yoruba title meaning ‘beloved child’, signifying deep affection, honour and importance within the Yoruba race.
In a statement in Lagos, TMF National Coordinator, Mr Gbenga Abiola, described the younger Tinubu as “a truly uncommon and special son.”
He said the honour symbolised courage, strength and commitment to humanity, adding that it recognised service, humility and exemplary leadership.
“This coronation transcends ceremony and affirms his character, credibility and respect across communities,” Abiola said.
He added that the honour reflects “years of quiet sacrifice, consistent impact and selfless service, especially in youth development.”
Abiola described Tinubu as an exceptional human being whose compassion was demonstrated through actions rather than words.
He noted that Tinubu’s philanthropic efforts and community engagements were undertaken sincerely, without unnecessary publicity.
“His support for vulnerable groups has earned him genuine admiration and trust among the people,” he said.
Abiola described Tinubu as a disciplined, visionary and people-oriented leader with a rare leadership style.
“His leadership is anchored on listening, empathy and responsibility, qualities often lacking in contemporary leadership,” he added.
He said Tinubu’s ability to inspire youths and engage elders constructively remained a defining strength.
Abiola praised Tinubu for remaining grounded despite his background, exposure and privileged upbringing.
According to him, Tinubu embodies respect for culture, strong family values and national consciousness.
“His calm strength, emotional intelligence and humility set him apart,” Abiola said.
He prayed for divine wisdom, strength and grace for Tinubu as he assumes the new responsibility.
“This honour is a higher call to service, and we are confident he will promote youth empowerment and national unity,” he added.
Abiola also congratulated former Gov. Abdulaziz Yari and his wife on their recognition as Obaloyin of Yorubaland. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
