Kainji (Niger), Dec. 25, 2025 (NAN) The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke on Thursday tasked troops of Operation Fansan Yamma (OPFY), Sector 3, on professionalism, bravery, and vigilance to stay ahead of enemies.

Aneke gave the charge at Christmas Luncheon with troops of Operation Fansan Yamma Sector 3, at Kainji, Niger.

The air chief, who was represented by Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, AVM Ahmed Dari said: “As the world celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, let us reflect on the values of peace, love, and family that His birth represents.

“I recognise that while many Nigerians enjoy this holiday surrounded by loved ones, you stand here in the heat and dust of Kainji, ever vigilant and ready.

“Being away from your families during this season is challenging, however, I want to assure you that your country sees and appreciates your dedication.

“Your sacrifices are essential, there is no doubt that it is these sacrifices that guaranteed peaceful festive season for millions of our fellow citizens to celebrate.”

According to him, this base in Kainji is not just any installation; it is a fortress of air power.

“Your role in Sector 3 is critical to the mission of eradicating banditry and terrorism in the Joint Operating Area controlled by Operation Fansan Yama.

“This base hosts our best platforms, and the air interdictions and close air support missions that originate from here have significantly hindered the operations of bandits and terrorists.

“Your technical expertise and support for combat operations reinforce the importance of the “Air Component OPFY in our fight against adversaries.”

He said the leadership of the Nigerian Air Force was steadfast in its commitment to the welfare of personnel.

“Whether it’s improving your living conditions, providing modern protective gear, or ensuring your medical needs are met.

“We are dedicated to equipping you in every way possible to operate effectively here in Kainji.

“Our enemies do not take breaks, so, we must remain vigilant and proactive. With our commitment and strategic operations, I am confident that we will restore peace and improve security across our nation.

“Let us break bread together in the spirit of Christmas, reminding ourselves of our shared bonds and our common goal for a safe and prosperous Nigeria,” he said.

The News Agency of NIgeria (NAN) reports that the representative of the Air Chief had earlier paid a courtesy visit on Emir of Borgu Kingdom, Muhammad Haliru-Dantoro IV.
