Badagry (Lagos State), Dec.23, 2025 (NAN) A Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State, on Tuesday, ordered the remand of a 30-year-old man, Anax Isah, who pleaded guilty to a N170,000 fraud charge.

The Magistrate, Mr A J Aina, ordered his remand at the Badagry Correctional Centre, until Jan.12, for review of facts and sentencing.

Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Nov.1, at about 2.00.p.m at the Ibereko area of Badagry.

Ekpo said that the defendant obtained the sum of N170,000 under false pretence from one Anax Isah, the complainant.

He alleged that the defendant had promised to supply the complainant two bags of beans but never did.

“He was later arrested and handed over to police for prosecution,” he said

The offence contravenes the provisions of section 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The court has fixed Jan. 12 for a review of facts and sentencing. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
