Yuletide: LG chairman assures residents of adequate security

Dawakin Tofa (Kano State), Dec. 23, 2025 (NAN) The Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, Alhaji Anas Danmaliki, has assured residents of adequate security arrangements to ensure peaceful Christmas and New Year celebrations in the area.

Danmaliki told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Dawakin Tofa that the security measures already put in place would enable residents to celebrate the festive season without threats to lives and property.

He said that the measures included intensified patrols by security agencies, collaboration with vigilante groups, establishment of strategic checkpoints and continuous surveillance throughout the festive period.

The chairman added that the local government had also engaged traditional rulers and religious leaders to mobilise residents to provide credible information on the movement of suspected persons to the nearest security agencies for prompt response.

Danmaliki urged residents to continue to cooperate with one another and security agencies.

He assured that the local administration would sustain policies and programmes aimed at improving the well-being of all residents, regardless of political affiliation. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
