Bayelsa CP urges united security front, hosts JTF

Yenagoa, Jan. 8, 2026 (NAN) The Bayelsa Commissioner of Police (CP) Daniel Iyamah, has underscored the need for collaboration with the Joint Task Force (JTF), South-South, Operation Delta Safe, in a bid to enhance security.
Iyamah said this while playing host to the JTF commander, Rear Adm. Olugbenga Oladipo, and his component commanders.
A statement to newsmen on Thursday in Yenegoa, signed by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Musa Mohammed, disclosed this.
Mohammed said that the visit was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and operational synergy between the Police and the JTF in the state.
According to him, this was with the view to enhancing policing and overall security across Bayelsa.
He said that during the visit, Oladipo noted the importance of sustained cooperation, intelligence sharing, and joint operational strategies among security agencies.
He said that this was particularly necessary in tackling security challenges in the state’s riverine and coastal areas.
Responding, CP Iyamah warmly received the team and reiterated the command’s readiness to collaborate and synergise with Operation Delta Safe to foster safety in Bayelsa.
He assured the JTF of the command’ssupport in crime prevention; maintenance of public order; as well as the protection of lives and property across the state.
He also pledged assistance through the command’s technological assets to support operations against pipeline vandalism, crude oil theft, and illegal oil refining activities.
The CP said that inter-agency cooperation remained a critical pillar of effective security management and pledged continuous engagement to strengthen the existing security architecture in Bayelsa. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
