Deputy Gov. Onyeme describes late Opia as a man dedicated to public service

Asaba, Dec. 12, 2025 (NAN) The Deputy Governor of Delta, Sir Monday Onyeme, has described the late Joshua Opia as a distinguished figure whose life was marked by dedication to public service and the relentless pursuit of justice and fairness.
Onyeme said this on Friday in a condolence message sent to the family
The New Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Opia, 48, was until his death the Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta.
“As a true Comrade, he was a tireless advocate for the masses, contributing significantly to the political development and social justice movement of our people.
“His commitment, integrity, and passion for the welfare of others set a high standard for all who worked alongside him.
“We recognise that no words can fully alleviate the pain of this loss, but we encourage the family and his associates to take solace in the enduring memories you shared and the monumental contributions he made to society.
“May God, the source of all comfort, grant his soul eternal rest and provide the entire Opia family, friends, and associates the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
NAN reports that his remains were interred at Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta and the deputy governor, accompanied by political office holders, attended the ceremony.(NAN)(nannews.com.ng)
